Prenzlauer Berg has a reputation as Berlin's most gentrified neighborhood - and it is not entirely undeserved. But underneath the stroller-friendly brunch spots and boutique coffee shops, there is a genuinely excellent food scene if you know where to look.

Prenzlauer Berg is a neighborhood built for lingering. Wide streets, leafy courtyards, and a relaxed pace make it ideal for long breakfasts and unhurried dinners. The food skews international - Vietnamese, Nepali, Indian, Georgian - reflecting the cosmopolitan community that has settled here over the past two decades.
It is also one of Berlin's best neighborhoods for coffee, with several of the city's top specialty roasters within walking distance of each other.
The place to fall in love with Georgian food. Try the khinkali dumplings - thick parcels of spiced meat broth that you eat with your hands. Georgian wine is excellent and reasonably priced. One of those meals you will talk about for weeks.
The quintessential Prenzlauer Berg cafe. Giant flower arrangements, a sprawling brunch menu, and a beautiful corner terrace. Busy on weekends but worth it. The cakes in the display case are not decoration - order one.
Outstanding Vietnamese. One of the best in the city and locals swear by it. Small, unassuming, and consistently excellent. The pho is rich and deeply flavored. Go early or expect to wait.
One of Berlin's top specialty coffee roasters. The cheesecake here is legendary - dense, tangy, and nothing like the American version. A perfect afternoon stop near Kollwitzplatz.
Authentic Nepali cooking. A rare find in Berlin and genuinely delicious. The menu is small and changes regularly. Order whatever they recommend.
Prenzlauer Berg has excellent late-night options, a handful of outstanding ice cream spots, and some of Berlin's best bakeries.
